Exhibition 17th January – 3rd of February 2019
Reactor hall R1, KTH Campus, Drottning Kristinas väg 51, Stockholm
25 meters below ground a new world is opening up, here the scale is distorted and you go from being just one human to become a force as strong as life itself. Welcome to an artistic experience that lets you widen your senses in a land between virtual and real.
Emerging sensation is an art installation, where the visitor is invited to experience the art while also being a part of it. With unique technology, artist Malin Bobeck Tadaa has brought together smart textiles that change color and respond to touch, with Augmented Reality to create a hybrid world of digital and textile art.
Malin Bobeck Tadaa is a digital textile artist that integrates LEDs, sensors and electronics into her textile work. In this way, her art comes alive and invites the visitor to interact and influence it. She has previously exhibited in the Nationalmuseum Design, Gothenburg Art Museum and Borås Textile Museum. Emerging Sensation is her biggest installation so far and will take over the entire old reactor hall R1 underneath KTH in Stockholm, for a few weeks in January 2019.
Emerging Sensation takes place in collaboration with KTH, Ekelund Weavers and Microsoft. The project has been supported by Kulturbryggan.
